What do I bring with?

  • You will need either a Minnesota and/or Wisconsin fishing license and trout stamp for the waters you want to fish. You may purchase a one day license for either or both states with your captain for about $9.50 each
  • The weather on Lake Superior can change in minutes from hot and sultry to down right cold. Your captain advises that you wear soft rubber sole shoes, bring a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, rain repellent jacket, layered clothing to accommodate a shift in temperature.
  • Lunch and beverages are up to you,  an onboard refrigerator is provided for your convenience. (The captain can arrange for lunch and beverages at an additional charge)
  • A camera and/or video camera to capture memories of the fish , rugged shores of the lake, Aerial Lift Bridge, scenes of the busy harbor or the city of Duluth lit up at night!
  • A cooler to bring your catch home... Ice is available on the dock.

Who is Capt. Dave?

Captain Dave Wait is the owner and operator of E-Fish-N-Sea Charter Service and is a full time captain in the summer months.
He loves the Lake and safety is always his first concern.

  • a licensed/registered MN and Wis. guide,
  • member of both MN and Wis. Charter Captains Associations,
  • member of the Lake Superior Trollers Association

What is the boat like?

click for a closer view The E-Fish-N-Sea is a wide safe 31 foot Trojan Express. She has a large comfortable cabin, full galley, private rest room (head), all the latest Coast Guard safety features and state of the art electric downriggers, trolling boards, temp-speed, both at the surface and depth, video sonar, marine radio, G.P.S. and radar.

How about an overnight adventure?

This is becoming one of our most popular adventures! You fish half a day down the north shore of Lake Superior, dock in a beautiful marina, eat a grilled fish dinner, sleep on the boat and then fish half a day back to Barkers Island Marina. This expedition is for a party up to four persons. You select the menu... There are special rates for this overnight cruise so call or fill out the Charter Request Form and we will get in touch with you with more details.

What about the lake ?

From May to October you can catch mixed species of Atlantic, Coho, Chinook (king) Salmon, Lake Trout, Rainbow Trout (steelhead) and Walleye all within a few short miles of either shoreline!
